My husband and I went out and had a glorious day today. Since my husband has accepted a new job, his schedule is a little iffy. So, we wanted to celebrate his birthday a little early.
If you know my husband at all, you will know he is a proud Buffalo native. He loves Buffalo, NY, almost as much as he loves me. So when a Anchor Bar opened in Fredrick, Maryland, I knew I had to spoil the man and take him up there. So, this morning, we packed up and traveled over two hours for him to enjoy a taste of home.
Leading up to this fun-filled trip, I was very hesitant about what I was going to eat. How was I going to stick to my lifestyle change while still maintaining that fun and celebration? Let me tell you, it was so much easier than I ever imagined. While the Anchor Bar is not in my WW Tracker, there are a number of restaurants that are which made tracking so much easier.
My meal of choice was the grilled chicken tenders. They were so succulent. As you bit into these chicken tenders, the juices from the chicken just dripped off. I don’t know about you, but I had dry chicken. The flavor was spot on. I can’t believe I am saying this, but they were even better than the Chick-fil-A grilled chicken nuggets.
To prepare for my day, I had a 0 point breakfast and planned out a 0 point dinner. I knew we were going on this trip and I wanted the freedom to eat what I wanted, within reason. So, I was able to splurge and get the french fries. I have been so on track with WW, that I have not even thought about having a french fry or fast food since going on program. As I bit down in this french fry, it was almost like a new experience. Instead of something that had become rather regular, it was a special treat. One I enjoyed!
This was such a treat. We had a wonderful day and I got to indulge! This has taught me so much. I am able to embrace life. I don’t have to worry about breaking my “diet.” It’s all about the change in my lifestyle. I can lose weight while still living my life. Success!
